Three of the six sketches I made of trees during these sessions, using ink on Bristol board, which I attached to a cardboard backing with frog tape, so maintaining similar dimensions to the 5×5 paintings.
Woodstock Artists’ Cemetary lies across the slope of a hill facing the Catskill Mountains. It is on a large sloping field surrounded by old trees, with most of the gravestones lying horizontally on the grass so the natural view is not obscured. Oil sketch, September 2018.
